MISSION STATeMENT

Studio88art is an original Fine Art site featuring original work by Kelly Plummer.

We offer a unique point of view that is fresh, forward and caters to individual and corporate collectors that know that ART is meant to be appreciated and enjoyed. These works are stimulating and urge the viewer to discover the underlying narrative that runs through each work. As always, Kelly continues to expand her approach to the medium.

A Bit about the Artist

Mostly self-taught, Kelly took painting classes at the NYFAI in lower Manhattan in the early 80's then moved west to Seattle. A mere year after moving to Seattle, Kelly had opened 705 Madison Gallery, a venue specializing in new and emerging artists. While in Seattle, Kelly was involved in several solo and group exhibitions and was recognized by the National magazine "Cafe Ole'"for her oil on canvas "Women with Coffee" series. This group of work employs her signature style and adventurous wit that achieves a visual audacity that is unusual and highly original.

In 1990 Kelly moved her studio to Los Angeles where she lived and worked for over a decade. Several of those years were spent painting with the elite mural team of Bill Anderson for Walt Disney Imagineering. Additionally, Kelly has done projects for T.V. Guide, Sci Fi Channel, CBS, UVFX, and countless other motion picture, and video productions. Most recently relocating to the South East Coast, Kelly spent a year and a half working at Walt Disney World's MGM Studios and two years at Universal Studios Florida as a Scenic Artist. She has worked in several boutique Scenic shops as a Color and Paint Specialist / Consultant and has recently returned from Shanghai China as a Field Art Director for Walt Disney Imagineering and the Shanghai Disney Resort.

Kelly's work hangs in several notable collections in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Newport, Laguna and south Florida. Plummer approaches her many styles with verve and honesty that reflects her unique insight into popular culture and continues to explore the full range of her Artistic concerns and interests.
